Change is possible

I help millennial and gen Z men and women with anxiety, perfectionism, and ADHD to slow down, reduce anxiety, and show up authentically in their own lives.

My clients struggle just like you do. To everyone else, they are so compassionate, caring, and attentive. They appear like the perfect employee, student, friend, partner, and parent, and it looks effortless. They're the ones who are always able to get the task done, and often will go above and beyond.

Underneath this, my clients are overwhelmed and stressed out. After a lifetime of receiving good grades, being praised for their work ethic and high potential, and doing everything right, they're exhausted. They've spent so long chasing perfection and telling themselves it would be worth it. Now that they've arrived and received the degree, the dream job, or the family, they realize that it doesn't fix that feeling of lack.

They're tired of chasing perfection and productivity, but don't know another way forward. They've spent so much time focused on external approval, that they struggle to really know and feel confident with their own thoughts and feelings. Many of my clients tell me that they've been wearing a mask for years, the mask of “the good one,” “the helper,” “the smart one”, or “the gifted and talented kid.” They want to put down the mask and find out who they really are underneath.

My clients know that receiving external approval doesn't fix the insecurity, the self-doubt, or the imposter syndrome. But they keep chasing it, because it's what they know. Always finding the next way to optimize, increase productivity, reduce distraction, or check off the next thing on the to-do list. Always hoping they will finally get on top of all the things, find that mythical balance, and be able to relax. They believe that they should be able to “do it all”, and that they've failed if they can't figure it out.

People come to me when they start to question this and begin to realize the effects of chasing perfection. Often, they've wanted to start therapy for a while but have struggled to find the right time. There's a worry that if they talk about these things, they will fall apart or be less productive. Even though chasing the next thing can feel good in the moment, my clients know it's not a long-term fix. They know that if it were a matter of reading a self-help book, listening to a Ted talk, or finding the next productivity hack, they would've already solved the problem. They're ready to find and work towards real solutions, even though it's hard. They're ready to get to know themselves, let go of the myth of “doing it all”, and find self-worth outside of their accomplishments.

Just like my clients, you deserve a life that allows for ease and the ability to get off the treadmill of perfect. A life that is full, authentic, and allows you to show up completely as yourself. You deserve to feel “good enough” just as you are, without chasing the next accolade or task.

If you want to feel calmer, more authentic, and more confident in yourself just as you are, I'd love to help you get there.

I can't wait to hear from you.
